What Tavo learned at the newsroom
If you’re new to chickens, a hen mid-dust-bath genuinely looks alarming — on her side, wings spread, twitching in a crater of dirt. She is not dying. She is at the spa, and the spa is doing real work:
- Parasite control: fine dust suffocates and dislodges mites, lice, and their eggs — drying them out and scrubbing them off the feather shafts.
- Feather care: dust absorbs excess preen oil, so feathers stay light, clean, and properly insulating instead of matted.
