Why a Foundation?

Happy Chicks Feed started in a backyard. The chickens came first, then the garden, then the neighbors started asking questions. In a neighborhood where green space is measured in square feet, many had never seen a chicken lay an egg or pulled a carrot from the ground. That backyard became a place of learning.

That backyard became a teaching farm. The Happy Chicks Foundation exists to keep it growing — and to expand what it can offer to the community.
